Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, India. Shimla is also known as Simla. Shimla is a beautiful place and one of the most popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh. In Shimla there is a small railway station in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The railway line starts from Shimla to Kalka. Shimla railway station is located at an altitude of 2075 meters above mean sea level. The distance from Shimla railway station to Mall road is not big you can walk and can reach to Mall road. There are some handicraft shops in The Mall Road, a footman route, as well as the Lakkar Bazaar, a market specializing in wooden toys and crafts.

Shimla is coolest place to visit. Many tourist visit during summer season and winter season. in summer season Shimla is very popular Holiday retreat and is well known for it's Victorian architecture, which is reflected in certain area's of The Ridge and The Mall. Shimla is also famous holiday spot for honeymoon. 

All tourist activities in Shimla, Ice skating is best activity to do in Shimla in winters, the Ridge is one among the top tourist places in Shimla. In Shimla, all important spots are connected to each other such as The Mall Road, The Scandal Point, and The Lakkar Bazar.

Every year in April or May important summer festivals are operated on The Ridge.
There are also adventures activities in Shimla like: Trekking, Ice skating, Mountain Biking, Camping. The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute is located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Tourist can also visit in IIAS to explore the historical monument. 

The most popular Chris Church is located on The Ridge, Shimla. The Ridge is the large open space. The Ridge is an extremely famous tourist place in Shimla that provides an excellent view of the mountain ranges. The upper area of Shimla there is a famous temple named as Jhaku Temple.  

The summer season is the best time to visit Shimla with family. For snowfall the best season to visit Shimla is the Winter season which is between November to February. In Shimla snowfall begins in late December and lasts up to February. 

The temperature in Shimla in December is extremely cold  as low as 4°C - 16°C.

There are many Travel Agency where you can book your travel packages and enjoy the travel experience. If you want to reach Shimla then you can travel with cab, flight and Train. If you want to travel with cab then you can choose any Travel agency's packages (it depends upon you). If you want to travel with bus then you can book the bus from Delhi to Shimla OR Chandigarh to Shimla  and after that you can buy local cab(Taxi) in Shimla. Its better if you only book Volvo bus for Travelling. 

If you want to travel with Train then you have to visit kalka railway station for visit Shimla tour. During Kalka to Shimla you can see scenic mountains and enjoy your journey
